Jonny L Davies is a Welsh photographer, currently living and working in London.  He graduated in English and History from the University of Leeds before studying at the London Institute of Photography.

He is interested in archive collections and spent seven years working for the British Film Institute Special Collections department where he photographed select working papers of Ken Loach, Carol Reed and Derek Jarman among many others.

He recently completed a Wellcome Trust funded project, photographing the significant MRI slide collections held at the University of Nottingham, including those of Nobel Prize winner, the late Sir Peter Mansfield.

Outside of archival photography he has made portraits for artists, authors and musicians published in or commissioned by the following selected organisations:

Backlit Gallery; BFI; Faber & Faber; Loud & Quiet; NME; New York Times; Noisey; QUAD Derby; The Sunday Times; Vogue USA.
